They also had two strap holders at the rear. They all had Schecter on the headstock with toggle switches ( strats) but the Teles were the same as an ordinary model, SCHECTER in plain capital letters. Mark Knopfler used Shecter strats extensively. A friend leant me one once and it was a Tele ( zebra wood) and clearly labelled Schecter. I was thinking of doing some upgrades on the pick ups but not so sure what is the best way to go? Schecter made excellent Teles and Strats in the late 70's and early 80's but had Schecter clearly labelled on the headstock. I had my original 1980 black PT stolen many years ago, which was a great guitar, but picked this up about 8 years ago. What would it be worth now? Not so sure it would be worth a great deal, but it is a real nice model, pretty heavy but great action and a really nice looking guitar. I would love to know a little more history if anybody could help. I have searched but found no information in all honesty. Schecter have been slightly mysterious about how their serial numbering works.Ĭan anyone shed any light my Schecter tele please? Is this is a Texas model? The back plate shows the serial number S 1895.
